TED talk-Joy of surfing in ice-cold water

I was astonished to view the short video clip shown by the photographer Chris Burkard.  Beautiful photos touch; however, they sometimes lie.  Chris' pictures did touch the hearts without faking feelings, showing an absolute loneliness purifying a complicated mind.  I was greatly moved not only by those astonishing photos but his testament to the wild nature as well.  He linked the joy with suffering and said " There's no shortcut to joy."  And he also said  that pain is the shortcut of mindfulness.  Nowadays,  people tend to pursue the quick or real-time joy and might be trapped in the net-surfing or social groups.  Who would like to take pains to go further exploration into peace in mind?
When the photographer stood on stage and explained his obsession with the cold/ isolated beaches on earth, his eyes glowed and his voice shivered.  He's sincere and that made his speech as part of my reading.
